Enys Gardens are said to be the oldest gardens in Cornwall, giving them an air of romance and mystique which you can feel as soon as you arrive. You can hold both your wedding ceremony and/or your reception for up to 120 people. Quite a lot of our couples book Enys for the afternoon and evening. This way, they can hold a blessing in the gardens and then a party inside the old Mansion House. There are so many options for your wedding, making it the perfect venue for a creative couple. Please visit our weddings Facebook page to find out more, and see some lovely pictures!
Ceremonies
We have three areas inside the Mansion House that are licenced for weddings – the Drawing Room, the Library and the Hall.
Outside, you can get married down at the Broadwalk which runs along the outside of the walled garden with a thatched shelter at the far end. Another possibility is the Summerhouse Border, a smaller area with a thatched shelter overlooking acres of parkland. The other option is the Old Tennis Court which is a large flat area of lawn surrounded by majestic, mature trees.
FAQs
- What is the capacity for indoor and outdoor weddings at our Cornwall estate?
Our Manor House comfortably hosts up to 120 day guests for large celebrations, while our intimate walled area called The Colonel’s Garden is perfectly suited for micro-weddings of under 20 guests. For outdoor ceremonies, our historic gardens provide a stunning backdrop, while our elegant indoor spaces ensure your full guest count is accommodated comfortably regardless of the layout. - What is the wet-weather backup plan for an outdoor garden wedding?
If it rains, your ceremony seamlessly moves into our historic Manor House, which can accommodate up to 120 guests. We make the weather call in consultation with you 2 hours before the ceremony begins, ensuring your backup plan feels just as magical as being outdoors in the gardens. We set up both indoors and outdoors just in case. - Is there on-site accommodation, and what are the local lodging options near Falmouth?
While we focus entirely on providing the perfect event backdrop we do have one cottage that we rent out called the Gardener’s Cottage which is situated at the Walled Garden. The estate is located just 10 minutes from Falmouth. This gives your guests easy access to a massive variety of premier coastal hotels, charming Cornish bed and breakfasts and self-catering cottages to suit all budgets. - How do evening transport and taxi bookings work for a rural Cornish venue?
Because we are situated in a beautiful rural part of Cornwall, taxi availability late at night is limited and journeys must be pre-booked. We highly recommend that couples advise their guests to book return transport with Falmouth or Penryn taxi firms at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance, or arrange a private guest shuttle bus, which can easily access our main entrance. The music stops and bar closes at 23:30 everyone out of the house by midnight. - What are the parking capacities and access rules for large supplier vehicles?
We provide a dedicated, well-drained on-site parking area that can accommodate up to 150 cars comfortably. The main driveway is fully accessible for standard cars, wedding vehicles, and large supplier catering vans; however, extra-long commercial coaches over 29 seats must coordinate arrival times with us due to the classic Cornish lanes leading to the estate. It is best for them to arrive and leave the same way due to width restrictions. - Can we choose our own independent Cornish caterers or food trucks?
Yes, we warmly welcome independent, local Cornish caterers, external chefs, and unique food trucks to serve your guests. We believe your menu should reflect your personal taste, so we do not force you into a fixed in-house catering package – giving you full freedom to source local Cornish suppliers. - Are fireworks, sparklers, or live bands permitted at the venue?
To protect our historic structures, surrounding woodland wildlife, and local livestock, traditional fireworks are not permitted on the estate. However, handheld sparklers are OK in designated outdoor areas, and live bands or DJs are permitted inside the main venue spaces until our standard musical curfew at 11:30 PM.
